Alexander gave a presentation to the Journal Club of the Institute for Comprehensive Medical Science (ICMS) and discussed a paper by Dr. Rajeswari Jayavaradhan and co-workers. This paper describes that if Cas9 is coupled with a dominant negative form of 53BP1 this improves the ratio of homology directed repair (HDR) versus non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) at the Cas9 target site.
